Beach babies

My friend Kimberly and I have baby girls that are about 4 months apart.  Maddox is 19 months and Allie Claire is 15 months.  Last year when they were baby babies we took them to the beach and it was such a relaxing, enjoyable girls trip.  We enjoyed it so much that we decided to do it again this year.  While the weekend getaway was very enjoyable, I wouldn't quite describe it as relaxing with these two busy bees!  They were ALL over the place literally!  Neither one of them liked the beach at all.  The second we stepped foot into the sand they both started throwing a fit as if they had been put down into a fire pit.  They did not like sand on their feet.  I think Maddox was also overwhelmed by the sight of the "big water" as my other 2 call it.  She had this look of fear on her face even as we attempted to sit in a chair for 5 minutes.  Needless to say, we spent zero time at the beach.  We let them play in the kiddie pool and neither one of them had any fear.  In fact they both walked right in and each time they toppled over, they came right back up.  It was so sweet to watch them at this age where EVERYTHING is new, exciting, and fun.  Even the sea gulls flying by were amazing in their little eyes.
