Griffin's 3rd birthday

Of course this is obviously a late post for Griffin's birthday seeing that it was more than 2 weeks ago now but since I just started blogging I thought I'd post our first "big" event. I love the picture above of Grif. It's such a Griffin pose. No smiles....that would be too easy! Instead we see pure mischief written all over his face. This was before he hid under the table as we all sang happy birthday. This was his first year to kind of understand that it was his birthday and that we were celebrating his turing "free" as he puts it. The only thing he didn't quite get was the presents. He thought that each gift that his friend brought was for him and his friend to share! I thought that was really cute. We had it at the church gym and all of the kids had a blast. It was a very, very, cold and dreary Saturday afternoon. As a matter of fact, it snowed the night before. Nannie, Grandy, Chelle, and cousins came to help celebrate so the weekend was filled with fun and festivities. Two little boys played until they just couldn't play anymore. Griffin and "Dabe" are the best of friends and although they don't see each other a lot because of the distance, they can pick up and play just like they were brothers. They are so fun to watch. The girls had a lot of fun too of course....they always do!
Since daddy's birthday is the 31st, we've started having our family party for he and Griffin on the same day. So on Sunday night we went to Meme and "Fwapps" for another birthday celebration. We had pizza and cake which is Griffin's favorite meal besides pb&j. He kept asking over and over again, "when we gonna eat da cake Meme?" When we finally got ready to light candles and sing, Griff hid under the table again!!! I think he was just teased that the attention was on him. Marley Grace on the other hand, didn't mind one bit. Imagine that! He and Daddy blew out their candles and we enjoyed cake. Meme and Trapp got Griff a big "fwactor" and he went wild riding it around all night in the living room. It was a good time making memories. Birthdays are always fun....especially when you have the opportunity to celebrate them with the ones you love:)
